Kaley Cuoco has one of the most impressive TV résumés in Hollywood. While the star has dipped her toes in the world of film, it is the small screen where her talents have truly been the brightest. From her breakout role in the beloved sitcom 8 Simple Rules to her current starring part in Based on a True Story, Cuoco has proven time and again that she’s extremely versatile.
What makes Cuoco’s success all the more splendid is the sheer range of characters she’s portrayed over the years. She can effortlessly shift from playing the sweet and innocent Penny to voicing the deliciously unhinged Harley Quinn. But it’s not just her acting ability that makes her so endearing. Cuoco has a very likable screen presence. She crashes jokes and takes down bad guys, always leaving a lasting impression. So, without further ado, let’s take a look back at all nine of Kaley Cuoco’s TV roles where she stars as the main character and how they stack up against one another.
Ladies Man was not Kaley Cuoco’s TV debut. She had already made small cameo appearances in shows like My So-Called Life, Ellen, and The Tony Danza Show. But it did mark her first main role, where she stepped into the shoes of the precocious and hilariously sarcastic daughter of Jack, played by seasoned comedic actor Alfred Molina. Ladies Man follows the life of Jack, who worked at a women’s magazine and navigated his relationships with the women in his life.

Bratz is an animated series based on the popular fashion doll line created by a former employee of Mattel. It follows the adventures of four teenage girls – Cloe, Jade, Sasha, and Yasmin – who live in the fictional city of Stilesville, are obsessed with fashion, and run their own teen magazine, titled “Bratz.” Episode after episode, the girls navigate the ups and downs of teenage life, friendships, school, and their rivalry with another magazine.
She Shines in the Animated Realm
Bratz was a vibrant and fun series that ran for two seasons and consisted of 40 episodes, but its appeal was limited to a younger audience. The voice cast was different in both seasons, with Olivia Hack, Tia Mowry, Soleil Moon Frye, and Dionne Quan bringing the main characters to life in Season 1. Kaley Cuoco voices the character of Kirstee, the oldest one of the Tweevils, who run the rival Your Thing Magazine. Because she’s the smarter and confident one, she often leads the gang’s plans.
Cuoco wasn’t the only actor to get denied a part in The Big Bang Theory. John Ross Bowie initially auditioned for one of the show’s leads, Leonard. Although he was rejected, Bowie was later cast as Sheldon’s nemesis, Barry Kripke. Similarly, Kevin Sussman auditioned for Sheldon before he was cast as a supporting character and the comic book store owner, Stuart. In the beginning, Johnny Galecki was intended to play Sheldon before the actor pivoted to Leonard, who he famously plays throughout the show’s 12-year run.
