Singer remembers Raspberries lead singer
On X, which used to be called Twitter, singer John Eddie paid tribute to Eric Carmen.
The artist wrote, āSad to hear that Eric Carmen has died.ā
āOne of my favorite bands was The Raspberries.ā If you like rock ānā roll, Go All The Way is the perfect single. Thatās why I bought their first album with the scratch and sniff sticker.
āOne of my favorite albums of all time is The Raspberriesā Greatest Hits.ā The album is pretty f*g great, even the songs that arenāt as good.
āI saw the Raspberries live at one of those AM radio fests.ā It took place in Philadelphia at the Spectrum. Either WIBG or WFIL it was. It was about 99 cents for the ticket. Slade, The Raspberries, Jim Croce, Lou Reed, and Stevie Wonder were on the bill. it was crazy!
āThere may have been other acts on the bill, but Iām old and only remember those.ā Anyway, itās a sad day for the child inside me who is now in his late forties. āMay Eric Carmen rest in peace, and thanks for the raspberries,ā he said.
